It seems like forever ago that this idea came to me. Standing on a hill with my wife-to-be dreaming up ideas to help a cousin that seemed a million miles away. I would have given anything to take his pain and misfortune away. It came to me suddenly, "What if there was a website with a million users that gave a dollar every week?" for sure then we could make a difference just a little, be that bright joy that comes to people when fortune has truly smiled upon them.
Well, here we are, over a year later, Brandon is no longer with us, and I never had that chance to tell him how much of an affect he had on me, his cousin, just never as close as I liked to imagine we could be someday. Now I have a team behind me, united by Help 52, ready to make a difference and to be the difference for people between going broke and losing to the "machine" because fortune hasn't smiled on them yet.
Derek, Ryan, me and anybody else that understands and sees the need for a change are here, we may be the face right now of Help 52 but we know that there are millions more out there that long to make even just a small difference in peoples lives. A dollar a week can do that, it may not seem like much, but united it can bring hope, joy and a families smiles back.
We don't promise to heal loved ones, we can't even begin to explain how we wish we could, but we know the power of family and the need for family to come together to help that loved one with their fight, to hold their hands, to shed tears and to laugh with joy at the small things.
If you are inspired by any of this, long to make a difference, understand the gift of family and want to see families unite in tragedy and disease than join Help 52. Go to www.help52.com for more information and to learn about ways you can help. Even if you'd like to just keep updated and send us your stories and give support. We are just starting out and need everything we can get. We are still developing our system, but we have a goal and a dream and the drive to get there. Join the help. Help 52.
Sincerely,
President

Brandon was an amazing young man! His journey inspired so many of us. That is the legacy he left behind.
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing to watch the wonderful things that were done for Brandon and his family! Families that go through what Brandon's family went through, lose so many resources they may once have had. Those last few weeks were especially impressive to me. Brandon's dream was to "get back to Arizona", after his last year of battling that wretched disease. He made it back and the cancer struck again,
After weeks in the hospital, and a transfer to a hospice facility a house was provided, furnished and the pantry stocked! In an impressive few hours too! Brandon was transferred there and died a week later. He was able to have his whole family present with him those last few days and he died in Arizona, where he wanted to be.
Thank you Aaron, Ryan and Derek for taking this project on. Not only is it a legacy to Brandon, but to all families who have struggled with lose and the financial burden that it carries. I applaud these young men that have had the insight, courage and dedication to start such a wonderful project! Keep up the good work!

Ryan's mother Nina was my sister. Nina died recently from a six year battle with cancer which had metastasized from her breast to her liver to her brain. Nina was an incredible woman so it comes as no surprise to me, that Ryan has become involved with this project. Those who know Ryan also know that he is also an incredible young man. Good luck fellows with this project. I'm sending $102.00. $50.00 to help with your tax exempt status and $52.00 for the next 52 weels. Ron R.
